35 Possible Symptoms Associated with various Stages of Menopause

menopause cartoonMenopause is when you have not had a period (or even light spotting) for 12 consecutive months. Let me repeat: Only after 12 months of no periods will you be officially in menopause or post-menopause, UNLESS you have had a hysterectomy (surgical menopause) or cancer (chemical menopause). If you want to discuss each individual symptom join us on the message board !.  This can be a cause for celebration after you've waited and counted for 12 months so plan something special to mark the event! I guess you could call it a NON-event, right? Not all of your symptoms go away after your periods stop. You have to remember that your periods stop because you're not producing enough estrogen and a lot of the problems we all experience are due to a lack of estrogen. This is why some women choose to take hormone therapy, to supplement and balance your hormone levels. This website is here to help you make that decision.
